Selecting a sport horse is not about finding the most attractive offer. It is a professional assessment of many factors that determine its future in sport: pedigree, training level, physical condition, temperament, potential for development and, most importantly, compatibility with the future rider. It is the combination of these factors that creates a truly successful sport partnership.
Our project is built on years of experience gained far beyond horse selection. Over many years we have developed the equestrian industry through different directions: creating the premium equipment brand Alexandre Mason, developing the equestrian retail network Furazh Stable, projects in equine physiotherapy and rehabilitation Lightfone, participating in the creation of modern equestrian complexes and bringing owners and riders together through educational projects.
All these directions share one goal: to develop a culture of responsible horsemanship and help riders create the best conditions for their partners.
The project Alexandre Mason Horse Selection is a natural continuation of this philosophy. For us, selecting a horse is not a one-off transaction, but the beginning of a long-term partnership. We accompany our clients at every stage: from shaping the request and organising an individual trip to Portugal, to purchase, veterinary checks, paperwork, delivery and ongoing support after the horse moves to its new stable.
We believe trust cannot be bought — it can only be earned. That is why the best measure of our work is clients who, years later, return to us for their next horse and recommend us to friends, colleagues and students.
Personal selection / VIP tours
We begin with a detailed study of your request and together form a list of horses that best match your goals, level, ambitions and expectations. After preliminary selection, we organise an individual trip to Portugal according to your schedule and preferences, so that you can meet the selected horses in person. If necessary, we promptly arrange an official veterinary examination with the option to provide results to your vet for an independent second opinion. If the purchase is made remotely, we prepare up-to-date photo and video material, show the horse in work and in everyday life, and provide all the information you need to make a considered decision, wherever you are.
Exclusive offers
Our team lives and works in Portugal, every day immersed in the local equestrian environment. We speak personally with breeders, riders and farm owners, so we learn about worthy horses not from public listings, but directly — through trust, recommendations and personal relationships. Most horses we offer our clients never appear in open sale. That is why our service gives access to offers that cannot be found on public platforms or in standard catalogues.
